Rituals & practice
Muhurta is the branch of Indian astrology that picks a moment to begin something, and the Moon's nakshatra is usually the first thing it looks at.
A muhurta is a unit of about forty-eight minutes, thirty to a day. The practice is at its most visible around weddings, which in India are routinely scheduled to the minute on astrological advice, and around the opening of a business. It is the same instinct as picking a launch window, applied to a life rather than a rocket.
