Folklore #180
Folklore & calendar
The Egyptian moon god's name means 'the wanderer', which is a straightforwardly observational thing to call something that moves against the stars every night.
He is shown as a young man with a sidelock and a full moon resting in a crescent, and he had a large temple at Karnak. Earlier in Egyptian history he had a reputation for violence — one text calls him a devourer of hearts — and he softened over the centuries into a healer, which is an unusual direction for a god to travel.
