Lunar dust is vicious. With no wind or water to round it off, every grain is still a tiny shard of broken glass and rock.

Micrometeorite impacts melt and shatter the surface constantly, producing sharp, statically charged particles. Apollo dust chewed through three layers of Kevlar-like fabric on Gene Cernan's boots in three days, clogged seals, and scratched visors. It's one of the main design headaches for any long lunar stay.
