Everest climbed

Hillary and Tenzing reached the summit of Everest with a 99% moon in the sky behind them.

The final camp was pitched the night before under what was, to all appearances, a full moon. High-altitude climbers still plan summit pushes around bright moons, the approach is done in the dark, and moonlight is the difference between a headtorch and a landscape.
