Something from another star goes past
A telescope on Haleakala caught a small dark object moving far too fast to belong to the Sun, and it was gone within weeks.
1I/'Oumuamua was the first interstellar object ever seen inside the solar system, and the light curve said it was tumbling and extremely elongated — something like a shard rather than a ball. Nobody got a spectrum good enough to settle what it was made of before it left, and nobody will: it is not coming back.
