Much of the world looks at the full moon and sees a rabbit. It's the same rabbit, the maria haven't moved in three billion years.

Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Aztec and several Indigenous American traditions all read a rabbit into the same dark patches; in the Chinese version it's pounding an elixir beside the goddess Chang'e. China's far-side rover was named Yutu, jade rabbit. Everyone has always been looking at exactly the same picture.
