Equinox
Also called March equinox, vernal point, 0° Aries
Either of the two moments a year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator; the March one defines 0° Aries.
At the March equinox the Sun crosses the celestial equator heading north; at the September equinox, heading south. The point on the ecliptic where the March crossing happens is the starting point of tropical longitude, so the Sun enters Aries at that moment, whatever constellation is behind it.
