The Moon has two placements classical astrology treats as difficult: Capricorn, opposite the sign it rules, and Scorpio, opposite the sign it is exalted in.
Capricorn is its detriment and Scorpio its fall, and the readings differ in kind. Capricorn is described as emotional restraint that hardens into coldness; Scorpio as feeling that has nowhere to put itself and turns inward. Modern practice has largely stopped calling either of them bad, which is a real change in the tradition rather than a translation of it.
