Aspect
Also called aspects
A particular angle between two chart factors, measured along the zodiac, that astrologers read as a relationship between them.
The five major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) go back to Ptolemy, who derived them from fractions of the circle. Astrologers read each as a different kind of connection between the two planets' themes. Aspects are geometry; what they are said to mean is tradition.
