Fixed stars
Also called royal stars, Regulus, Spica, Algol
Bright stars that some astrologers read when a planet or angle falls on the same ecliptic degree.
Ptolemy described the stars' supposed natures by comparing them with planets. Traditional astrologers still note conjunctions with stars such as Regulus, Spica and Algol, using their ecliptic longitudes, which shift by about 1° every 72 years with precession. This site's chart does not include them; its star pages discuss the tradition.
