Horizon
The line dividing the visible sky from what is below it; the Ascendant and Descendant are where the ecliptic meets it.
In a chart the horizon is the Ascendant–Descendant axis: planets in houses 7 to 12 were above the horizon at birth and those in 1 to 6 below it. This is also how a chart is classed as a day or night chart.
