The method for dividing the chart into twelve houses; there are dozens, and they disagree.

All systems agree on the Ascendant but differ on the other cusps. Some divide space, some divide time, and some simply count signs. This site offers Placidus (the modern default), Whole Sign (the oldest) and Equal, and always shows which one a chart uses.
