One of twelve divisions of the sky around the birthplace, each associated with an area of life.

Where the signs divide the zodiac, the houses divide the sky as it stood above and below the birthplace at the moment of birth, starting from the eastern horizon. They need an accurate birth time. There are many ways to draw them, and astrologers disagree about which is right.
