Intercepted sign
Also called interception
A sign that lies wholly inside one house, with no house cusp in it, which happens in unequal house systems.
In Placidus and similar systems, houses away from the equator can be wider than a sign, swallowing a whole sign; the opposite sign is then intercepted too, and another sign rules two cusps. It cannot happen in Equal or Whole Sign houses. Some modern astrologers read interceptions as muted themes.
