Lunation
Also called new moon (astrology), full moon (astrology), synodic month
One cycle of the Moon's phases, new moon to new moon, about 29.5 days; also the moment of a new or full moon.
Astrologers note the sign and degree of each new and full moon and whether they fall on sensitive points of a chart. The phase itself is astronomy; what is read into it is astrology.
