Part of Fortune
Also called Lot of Fortune, Pars Fortunae
A calculated point found by measuring the Sun–Moon distance from the Ascendant.
The most used of the Hellenistic lots. By day it is Ascendant + Moon − Sun; many traditional astrologers reverse the formula by night, many modern ones do not. It is read as a point of material circumstance and the body. This site's v1 chart does not calculate lots.
- How it is worked out
- Day: ASC + Moon − Sun. Night (traditional): ASC + Sun − Moon.
- Where sources differ
- Whether to reverse the formula at night is disputed.
