Traditional rulership
Also called classical rulership, Ptolemaic rulership
The scheme that gives the Sun Leo, the Moon Cancer, and each other visible planet two signs.
Ptolemy explained it by the planets' order out from the luminaries: Mercury next to Leo and Cancer, then Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn opposite the lights in Capricorn and Aquarius.
