The last transit of Venus this century
Venus crossed the face of the Sun for six hours and forty minutes, and will not do it again until December 2117.
Transits come in pairs eight years apart and then not for more than a century, because Venus's orbit is tilted and the alignment is fussy. Everyone alive who saw this one, or the 2004 pair with it, has seen the only ones of their lifetime.
