Voyager 1 leaves, second
Voyager 1 launched sixteen days after Voyager 2, on a faster path that would overtake it, which is why the numbers look wrong.
Both carry a gold-plated copper record with greetings in fifty-five languages, whale song, and instructions for playing it, in case anyone ever finds one. Voyager 1 crossed into interstellar space in 2012 and is now the most distant object humans have made.
