The October Revolution, in November
The Bolsheviks took the Winter Palace on a date Russia called 25 October and the rest of Europe called 7 November, and the anniversary was thereafter kept in November.
Russia was still on the Julian calendar and thirteen days behind; it switched three months later, deleting 1 to 13 February 1918. The storming itself was a good deal less dramatic than Eisenstein's film, which was shot in 1927 and is where most of the famous images come from.
